Something significant struck me recently – it is all about continuous improvement for processes, and systems, and that you are based on continuous improvement.
We often think that we want to set up a system or an automation and basically get it done and dusted – and that would be the end of it. But the truth is, our business evolves. Life changes, life evolves. Systems evolve. Everything is in a continuous state of movement and change. So when you’re thinking about system and session automations and so on, always plan for getting it done but not plan for the last version of the system and the process. In reality, that will never be the last version or the last time that you’re going to look into it.
Long Term Strategy
What I encourage you to do is to think on a long term strategy instead of a short term one. What you need is a lead generation system or a serum system just to put your leads in so you can actually see them and have visibility of the process and you can drive them through your sales process. Then start looking into your sales process itself, is it powerful enough or not? Then you’re going to have to apply those changes to the system to make it as powerful as you want it to. So you see, it’s never still, it will constantly change.
A Change in Mindset
So the first step you will need to do is to actually change your mindset. If you’re looking for a system and a place of visibility of your sales process then focus on the system to do that. But you don’t need to focus on the whole processes and automation and everything else. Do not expect to get 100% done immediately. You will always be making changes, because your business is evolving, you are evolving.
Maybe you introduce a new product, maybe you introduce a new salesperson, so the process will need to be fitted to that new person. Or maybe you don’t hire someone, but you change your proposal system because you find something better, then you will need to change your process again.
Never think of this version as the best version. It’s probably going to be the best but only the best version of today, and it wouldn’t be the best version of your business ever. Because your business will always be on a constant change which means systems and automations and everything else that you have in the backend will also constantly change.
A Plan for Excellence
So what now? What I invite you to do is to include your systems and automations and everything else into your business plan. If you know that your business plan is coming up for next year, then just plan it into what you want to apply for the coming year. That will make your whole life a lot easier – and your systems even more efficient. Remember, think long term. We get you most of the results instead of thinking short term for automations. Short term is functional, long term is excellence.
