Above you can see the highlights of our episode with Edward, but there is lot’s of additional of information I want to share with you today.
Let’s start from the beginning…
Who is Edward Zia ?
Edward Zia is a Marketing Mentor who specializes in small business and helping entrepreneurs. He is a marketer, sales trainer, 4Networking Leader, blogger and teaches globally (aka “The Crazy Persian)
But I am not interviewing Edward because of his sales and marketing success.
I met Edward at a local networking event that we both regularly attend called 4Networking. Edward has been incredibly welcoming and friendly ever since we first met. In fact he was so friendly that I didn’t realize he was in marketing when it came to the regular 30 -40 seconds pitches.
When he finished his pitch, I realised he had the type of message I’d like my audience to hear. Edward is a marketing person who accurately demonstrates how easy marketing can be.
The truth is most of us make marketing far more complex then it needs to be.
We do this because advertising (which is completely different from marketing) has tricked us all into thinking that all marketing revolves around making commercials. But, marketing is way more than just commercials. The way you talk, the way you address people, your email address, the way you or your staff pick up the phone, your business cards, etc…ALL of these come into play when talking about marketing.
After having a couple of conversations with Edward, I quickly realized that his approach to marketing was worth sharing, which is why he is here on this episode: to share his view on the difference between obtaining clients ‘ASAP’ vs. getting the right clients.
In his own words:
“Getting More Clients” is often a critical aspect of business, however there is much more to it.
“Getting the Right Clients”, Automated Marketing, Correct Pricing, Packages, Approach, Personal Selling – Marketing is a massive and critical driver of business success.
This leads us into Edward’s Awesome Top 10 Marketing Tips to Turn Mistakes into Profitable Wins.

Each of these points are critical for any business.
But the main thing that Edward brought to my attention is that the only thing that really matters is solving the problem that you are having right at this moment.
That was a turning point in the conversation for me.
Up to this point we had discussed what small businesses can do related to the above 10 points and we touched on an important point which is getting help to solve them. Getting a Mentor / Coach / Consultant!
Edward’s view on mentoring is quite interesting and he gave us 5 key characteristics you should look for when getting help.
Edward’s 5 Key Characteristics when Choosing a Mentor
Here are Edward’s tips on looking for a mentor, coach or consultant
- The right strengths will help you find and solve critical issues in your business
- Look for someone who will do the right thing and is not looking to sell ‘one more program’
- Find someone that has a good track record
- Make sure they have accreditation
- Have a personal alignment with the individual
So there you have it, Edward’s marketing tips and advice for finding and hiring a coach, mentor or consultant.
If you take away one thing from this episode make it this: Recognize that your business will only run smoothly when you work on it consistently.
