This post is a bit of my life story tied up with illustrations of the three things you need to have a successful business. Whether it’s offline, online, or somewhere in between, here are three steps for business success:

Why are you doing it?
This is an important part of success.
Knowing the why will not only aid your mental strength, it will aid your determination.
You don’t need to know a lot of things, but you need to know what motivates you in order to move forward every single day.
For me, it’s my daughter. She’s why I’m doing it.
I know many people can probably relate to my motivation. When my wife got pregnant, I realized I had to do something to provide for a soon-to-be larger family.
I couldn’t just sit around hoping for a better future, so I strove to make it on my own. I experimented with different strategies and built my own business from scratch. I had no clue what I was doing, but I always had my “why” to fall back on. My family became my “why.” My “why” became my strength.
In every single thing you do, find the “why”.
I challenge you: When you go home today, don’t turn on the TV. Instead, sit down and think why you do what you do. Why do you go to work every day? Why do you live where you live? Why are you happy or unhappy?
Find the why and you’ll find your success.
What is your goal?
Have a vision.
You found your “why”, but what is your goal? Mine is to give a better life for my family.
My family is the the “why,” the goal is the “better life.”
Find a why to combine the “why” with the “goal.”
What are your plans to achieve that goal?
Are you going to get into the stock market? Start an online or an offline business?
The next question is, where are you going to do those plans?
Find the plan. Know the plan. Implement the plan.
That’s all it takes.
These three things will give you the opportunity to succeed in anything you want to do.
1) Know why you do what you do. Is it your family, yourself or something else? Find it.
2) Find the goal. Do you want financial independence, a better life, a safety net for your business?
3) Make the plan. What are the learning gaps that you need to fulfill that goal?
